The City of Sanford will be hosting the Mayfair Inn Open at the City’s historic Mayfair Country Club January 11, 12, 13, 16 & 17. The club has invited both professionals and amateurs to deliver a great week of golf during this tournament. Mayfair Country Club is hosting over 120 professionals from all over the world along with over 100 amateurs. The professional event is January 11 through the 13th with a cut after round two. The amateur’s event is January 16 and 17 with no cut.
In the 1950’s, the Mayfair Country Club became a tour stop for professional golfers, with the PGA Tour hosting “The Mayfair Inn Open.” Golf legends Arnold Palmer, Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead, Moe Norman, and Ben Hogan attended this event multiple times.
The professional event guarantees $10,000 for the winner with a total purse over $30,000. Along with the $10,000, the winner of the professional event will receive a full staff contract with Wilson Golf for 2021. At the request of the title sponsor “The Peggy Wahl Family”, ten percent of all entries will be donated to The Shriners Children’s Hospital and Saint Jude’s Hospital in honor of Peggy Wahl.
The Mayfair Country Club is Sanford’s only golf course and one of the very first courses built in Florida. Mayfair has been played by some of the greatest names in golf and is a gem in the crown of historic Seminole County.

There is a driving range, chipping & putting green, lockers and showers available, and also have a practice bunker to help you warm up before your game.
