From the Florida Highway Patrol

At 10:30pm last night, a fatal crash happened in Sanford, involving one young adult and two minors.

Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 2018 BMW Sedan was traveling northbound on Country Club Road in Sanford. The driver was a 21 year old male from Sanford, with two passengers, a 19 year old male also from Sanford, and a 16 year old female from Deltona. All three were wearing seat belts.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, for an unknown reason the driver was unable to negotiate a curve in the road, veered off, and the left side of the Sedan struck a tree. After the impact, the vehicle was split into two pieces. The male passenger was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver and female passenger both sustained critical injuries and were transported to the Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford.

No names were released, but the next of kin for the driver and both passengers have been notified.

The Crash Investigator was Trooper Ponder, and Homicide Investigator was CPL Pratts.

The crash remains under investigation.
