From the Altamonte Springs Police Department
The Altamonte Springs Police Department invites the public to join in on its annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Wekiva Golf Club. All proceeds will benefit The Advisory Board for the Disabled, Inc. and ASPD Police Explorer Post #596.
The Advisory Board for the Disabled, Inc. in Altamonte Springs is a non-profit volunteer organization. The basic powers and general purpose of the board are to evaluate and fill the needs of individuals with disabilities in the area of social and rehabilitative activities and raises funds in order to provide an outstretched hand at all times to any member of the special population who has any type of need.
The ASPD’s Police Explorer Program‘s mission (Explorer Post Number 596) is to fill the post with enthusiastic and active young persons who are interested in developing a working knowledge of law enforcement through relationships with members of the ASPD.
Explorers are trained in areas of law enforcement for competition, but more importantly they receive training that will assist them in accomplishing their life goals. Explorers are provided a road map to success with an emphasis on education and community involvement. Participation as an explorer may be eligible to earn community service hours needed to apply for the Bright Futures Scholarship programs.

- Character Education
The explorer post is comprised of both males and females students that have completed the 8th grade and not yet graduated from high school.
ASPD Annual Charity Golf Tournament Details
Golf Tournament: Friday, March 5, 2021
Location: Wekiva Golf Club, 4100 Wekiva Club Court, Longwood, 32779
Registration/Check In: 7:30 a.m.
Shotgun Start: 8:30 a.m. (Please arrive no later than 8 a.m.)
Registration & Fees:
Cost is $75 per player or $300 per foursome. Fees include:
- 18 Holes of Golf
- Golf Cart
- Box Lunch
- Door Prizes
The ASPD is committed to keeping all players and staff safe. Tournament safety guidelines include:
- All event staff and participants are required to wear masks and social distance.
- Hand sanitizer and gloves are readily available.
- All food is pre-packaged and served as takeout.
- Beverages are single-use bottles or cans.
- Additional Wekiva Golf Club protocols will be enforced.
Once registered, each participant will receive an electronic liability waiver by email. Waivers must be signed and submitted prior to the tournament. Participants without waivers are not permitted to play.
