Achieves highest monthly passenger numbers last month

The Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) set a new monthly record for the total number of passengers with 337,476 passengers in March 2019, a 3% increase from the previous record set in July 2018 (327,750 passengers) and a 4% increase from March 2018 passenger volume (323,115 passengers).

“It’s gratifying to witness SFB scale new heights so early in the year,” said Orlando Sanford International Airport’s President and CEO, Diane Crews. “We want to thank our airline partners who continue to provide quality air service and our passengers for choosing to fly through SFB time and time again”.

The Central Florida-based airport is currently undergoing a $60 million expansion project which will add nearly 50,000 square feet of space to the airport. The renovation project includes four new gates, three new baggage carousels, an additional ticket counter, new access to parking to reduce traffic, and more.

“Our expansion project couldn’t have come at a better time,” explained Crews. “The new terminal will help us support and sustain our continued growth”.

In fact, the airport achieved a new annual record for the total number of passengers in 2018 of 3,096,814.
