From the Florida Highway Patrol

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash at approximately 2:45 pm this afternoon on Interstate 4 and mile marker 98 in Seminole County, which resulted in the death of one of the drivers.

According to the report, a sport utility vehicle driven by a 61-year-old Longwood woman, was traveling on the entrance ramp from Lake Mary Boulevard to westbound I-4. A second vehicle, a sedan driven by a 53-year-old Sanford man, was traveling westbound on I-4 in the left lane when the SUV sudddenly traveled from the entrance ramp towards the left westbound lane and struck the sedan.

The driver of the sedan later died at South Seminole Hospital from injuries sustained in the collision. The driver of the SUV sustained serious injuries, according to the report.

The FHP did not release the names of either driver. The crash remains under investigation.
