From the Seminole County Public School District
Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) will hold a groundbreaking event for the new Casselberry Elementary School campus on Tuesday, January 19th at 10AM.
The total project budget for the new campus is $24 million, utilizing a combination of 1.5 Mil and Sales Tax Funding and includes designs for 798 permanent student stations through a combination of new and renovated buildings, site improvements, and removal of the current portables. The original Campus Buildings 1-7 were built in 1960, Building 8 in 1976, and Buildings 11 and 12 in 1987.
The district hired Harvard Jolly Architecture as the Design Architect and D&A Construction Group, Inc. for Construction Management. The total project, including construction and renovation, is scheduled to take approximately 18 months to complete with an anticipated grand-opening date of August 5th, 2022.
