From the Seminole County Public Schools Newsroom
The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools is distributing 4,000 school supply kits to elementary and middle schools through their Tools 4 Seminole Schools Program. The kits include essential school supplies to help students start semester 2 with all the supplies needed to be successful in the classroom. These include things like pens, pencils, headphones, paper, dry erase board, notepads, and more, all pre-packed in individual bags.
Schools can distribute the supply kits to any student in need, whether face-to-face, Seminole Connect, or virtual. The kits are given out to schools based on need.
Special thanks to their generous donors who made this possible, including Seminole County CARES and Lockheed Martin. The value of each elementary kit is $42, and a middle school kit is $30. This has been a difficult year for many families; currently more than 50% of SCPS students are on the Free & Reduced Lunch (FRL) program. This supply kit program was created to help alleviate some of the burden from our Seminole County families who are struggling.
The kits are being delivered to schools the week of December 14-18 and schools can begin giving the kits to students the week of January 4, 2021.
