Seminole County Office of Emergency Management has been under a Local State of Emergency (LSE) since March 2, 2020, and continues to monitor COVID-19. There have been 6,272 confirmed cases in Seminole County, and 2,995 confirmed cases are currently active; there have been 71 COVID-19 deaths in the County.

SANDBAG OPERATIONS BEGIN

Seminole County and partner cities opened sandbag sites yesterday in preparation for forecasted severe weather. Sandbags are available at these sites for all County residents, up to 15 sandbags per household. Empty bags will be provided, residents should bring their own shovel and expect to fill and load their own sandbags. Social distancing will be enforced.

OVIEDO PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE YARD
WHERE: 1725 Evans Street, Oviedo
WHEN: Thursday, July 30-Friday, July 31, 8:00a.m.-6:00p.m.

COVID-19 TESTING

Seminole County will continue testing for COVID-19 at Pop Up Community Test sites. Testing is offered for ages 18+. Patients must bring identification, patients do not have to exhibit symptoms. Testing is free of charge regardless of insurance status; patients with insurance should bring insurance cards. Allied Health is the testing provider and appointments are required for testing. Make appointments at prepareseminole.org.

Two (2) free cloth masks will be provided for each individual tested at a Pop-Up Community Site, while supplies last.

  • Thursday, July 30: Northland Church, 530 Dog Track Road, Longwood
  • Friday, July 31: Winter Springs High School, 130 Tuskawilla Road, Winter Springs
  • Saturday, August 1: Winter Springs High School, 130 Tuskawilla Road, Winter Springs* this site has been cancelled due to forecasted severe weather

True Health will also offer by-appointment drive thru testing services at the Casselberry and Sanford Clinics through Friday. Florida Department of Health in Seminole also has curbside testing by appointment this week.
