From the Seminole County Newsroom
Seminole County received their second shipment of vaccines this week, a shipment of 12,675 Pfizer vaccines. The purchase of four ultra-cold freezers in 2020 allowed for Seminole County to receive the Pfizer vaccine, one of only 11 counties in Florida to receive their second shipment of vaccine.
MOBILE VACCINATION SITES
On Tuesday, January 5, Seminole County hosted their first mobile site, at Serenity Towers in downtown Sanford. 140 residents of Serenity Towers were vaccinated during this effort.
Additionally, several other communities have been identified and booked for upcoming similar mobile sites. This week, Seminole County Emergency Management and Florida Department of Health Seminole will visit Hacienda Village, Palm Valley, and The Tremonte. These sites are closed to the populations living in the community.
TEXT NOTIFICATIONS
Individuals should register for text alerts to be notified of COVID-19 vaccine appointment availability and/or expansion of criteria by texting COVID19INFO to 888-777; this is the first way the County will notify individuals regarding additional appointments. Seminole County has produced a “how-to” video explaining how to register for text messages:
