From the Florida Highway Patrol
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle collision on Interstate 75 in Lee County this afternoon that blocked northbound traffic for hours.
According to the FHP report, a Ford Fusion driven by a 44-year-old Miami man was traveling north on Interstate 75 near Mile Marker 114 in the outside lane. At the same time a Chevy Equinox driven by a 34-year-old Cape Coral woman was traveling north on Interstate 75, in the inside lane. A third vehicle, a cement truck driven by a 40-year-old Lehich Acres man was traveling north on interstate 75, ahead of the Fusion, when its driver made an improper lane change, and collided with the back right side of the Equinox causing it to rotate and overturn. The Fusion then veered to the right and its front collided with the cement truck.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers, and there were only minor injuries to the driver and a passenger of the Equinox.
