Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision inside a residential Pasco County neighborhood this morning. Pasco County Fire Rescue also responded to the crash.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:35 this morning, a sedan driven by a 46-year-old Lutz woman was traveling northbound on Banyan Hill Lane, south of Plantation Palms Boulevard in Land O Lakes when she suffered a medical emergency. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which departed the roadway, entered the east shoulder, and collided with a mailbox located at the 3100 block of Banyan Hill Lane. Continuing, the vehicle struck landscaping before colliding with the garage of a residence on the same block.
According to the report, it is estimated that the crash caused “several thousand dollars of damage” as the vehicle penetrated the sidewall of the structure and came to rest in the garage.
The driver was listed as receiving minor injuries in the collision. No other injuries resulted from the incident.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver.
